Przymiotników i zaimków wskazujących "this" / "that" / "these" / "those" używamy do wskazania opisywanych przez nas rzeczy.

Przymiotniki wskazujące:

• I like this book.
• That book is expensive.
• She loves these books.
• I want those books.

Zaimki wskazujące:

• Whose book is this?
• That is my book.
• These are mine.
• I want these, not those.

Forma 1 – przymiotniki wskazujące

Przymiotników wskazujących "this" / "that" / "these" / "those" używamy z rzeczownikami:
przymiotnik wskazujący + rzeczownik.

• "This" i "these" używamy opisując rzeczy, które są blisko nas z perpektywy miejsca i czasu.
• "That" i "those" używamy opisując rzeczy, które są daleko od nas lub których nie możemy zobaczyć.

• bez rzeczownika, jeśli rzeczownik, który mamy na myśli, jest znany, bo np. go widzimy:

"This" / "these" możemy użyć dla odróżnienia od "that" / "those", a także aby uniknąć powtórzenia wspomnianego już rzeczownika:
