Present continuous

(Present continuous)

Introduzione

Usiamo il "present continuous" per parlare di:

un'azione che si sta verificando in questo momento (1)
un'azione che si sta verificando intorno alla fascia di tempo presente (2) (è cominciata nel passato e continua adesso, terminando in un punto non specificato nel futuro)
un accordo definitivo per il futuro (3).

Esempi:

Please be quiet. I'm watching television. (1)
She's studying Italian at the university. (2)
They’re booking the hotel tomorrow. (3)

Parte 1 - Present continuous positivo

Formiamo il present continuous con
il presente del verbo "be" ("am", "is", "are")
+ la forma in "ing" del verbo principale (present participle).

Per esempio:

I	'm / am	having	a shower at the moment.
He / She / It	's / is	working	in the city.
You We They	're / are	seeing	the doctor on Monday.

Completa le frasi con la forma positiva corretta del present continuous del verbo tra parentesi.

Parte 2 - Present continuous negativo

Per formare una frase negativa trasformiamo al negativo il verbo "be" –
‘m not (am not)
isn’t (is not),
aren’t (are not).

Per esempio:

I	'm not / am not	having	a shower at the moment.
He / She / It	isn't / is not	working	in the city.
You We They	aren't / 're not / are not	seeing	the doctor on Monday.

Per formare domande mettiamo il verbo "be" prima del soggetto.

Per esempio:

Am	I	having	a shower at the moment?
Is	he / she / it	working	in the city?
Are	you we they	seeing	the doctor on Monday?

Risposte brevi

Yes,	I	am.
No,	I	am not.
Yes,	he / she / it	is.
No,	he / she / it	isn't.
Yes,	you we they	are.
No,	you we they	aren't.
